Using a real-time global news API

Choose the right data layer

Use articles for individual dispatches, events for grouped coverage, and signals for emerging reporting patterns. Decide whether your application needs current feeds, historical records or both.

Define time and geography precisely

Distinguish publication time from collection time and the country a story concerns from the country of the publisher. Consult the API documentation for supported filters and scopes rather than assuming all endpoints share parameters.

Build for reliable retrieval

Keep API keys server-side, follow pagination, cache results and handle authentication, quota and temporary service errors. Check timestamps and deduplicate syndicated reports before counting independent sources.

Preserve provenance and limits

Display original links and dates. Monitored geography does not guarantee articles from every territory at every moment. Early signals are not predictions; attribution and source context should travel with derived summaries.

Plan access

API access is pay as you go. Consult current documentation and pricing before estimating request volumes or production costs.
